Auch bei mir sind alle Ausgaben (sowohl archivierte wie auch lokal gespeicherte Ausgaben) weg. UPDATE - Ausgaben wieder neu geladen! Inzwischen hat sich WIRED gemeldet. Man kann alle Ausgaben kostenlos erneut laden. Ist zwar nicht sehr elegant, aber besser als nichts. Dafür gibts 3 Sterne und so gehts: > Zitat aus der Antwort von WIRED: "Please read the information below concerning the transfer of your purchases to a new/restored device. 1) Download app on new/restored device 2) Select issue within app youve already purchased, but would like on your new iPad. NOTE, the issue will indicate that you have not purchased it yet and will have a "Buy" button. This is fine. Continue on. 3) Click on the "Buy" button to begin the "purchase". 4) Apple will ask for you to sign in to your account in order to make the purchase, do so but make sure the account you use is the same as the account you originally purchased the issue on. 5) You will receive a pop up notification that states: "No Payment Necessary. You have already purchased the issue. Touch Download to load it to your device. OK" 6) Push "OK" and then the "Download" button."
The Wired content is really awesome. But this app is really awful. The download of a new issue takes ages (and Ive 100MBit fibre connection to the internet at my home). I thought maybe they will support some of the iOS 4.x multitasking features like task completion letting the download of a new issue finish in the background while you can do other things. So I wrote the Wired support and they answered me that none of this features is planned to come. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
5 Stars for the magazine, I wish something comparable would be offered in Germany. But only 3 stars for the App, it really needs the ability to download new content in the background using multitasking!
WTF ?? I just bought the "free" 19.05 issue, but my account was still charged & now it does not even download ?! Neither does 18.06, which I bought & payed for when it came out !! Nice future ..
I spent 16 euros for one year Wired. Then I recognized that I cant download any content. I get a failure notice which says I shell close the App and reopen it, but it doesnt work. I just wrote to the app-support yesterday, but I didnt get an answer yet. Hope it will be fixed soon, else I want my money!
I am with Lost Library. Ever since Wired went to Newsstand it has been inoperable. Wont load the magazine.
Very frustrating. Cannot access my past issues since the Wired app was replaced by Newsstand on ios5. The app just hangs! Shame on you Conde Nast.
The auto download doesnt work. Despite having a subscription I was charged to download the last issue (double charged actually - once for the monthly subscription and a second time for downloading the magazine within Newsstand). Whats really annoying is to read Conde Nastes propaganda about saving money by buying a monthly ($1.99) or annual ($19.99) subscription -- yeah right!! Im only glad I didnt pay for an annual subscription that doesnt work. Just for the record, its not the Newsstand app because my National Geographic and Popular Science subscriptions work perfectly.
The content is fantastic and very well done for the iPad format. However the app does not automatically download new issues, nor does it allow downloads in the background. And since the issues are very large (600mb+) that can take a while. You have to sit there with the app open and watch it download.
Cant download latest version nor can I access my library on my iPad. Please fix!
I love Wired magazine, but find the iPad app frustrating. Downloads are slow, the magazine huge (4-500mb per issue!), and the app (at least for me) seems to stop downloading when my iPad goes to sleep, I try to use another app - in fact, I have to sit and supervise each pages download in order to stop it halting the download, then starting again once woken up! Cmon Wired - you should be better than this with technology!
A couple updates have been buggy, yes, but theyve been fixed pretty quickly and otherwise its run quite well. The scrolling is a little oddly sensitive because of all the interactive content on the screen, but in general I like the exploration of what a magazine can be on an iPad - not to mention I always enjoy the articles!
The Wired newsstand app is a shining example of what the iPad brings to the table for magazines. No PDF scans here! Wired uses the touch screen to full advantage allow users to navigate between articles from left to right and within one from top to bottom. Nested multimedia helps keep articles engaging without being kitschy or annoying. A solid app that makes Wired a joy to read and for $20, a 1 year subscription is a great deal.
Careful: once you pay for a subscription, the app will automatically keep renewing it -- and keep billing you. Theres no way to cancel in the app itself, and even Wireds phone support cant cancel a digital subscription for you. Since this information isnt easily available and I spent about an hour on the phone with Apple support to get it, I thought Id post it here. - Go to the "Featured" page in the App Store app - Scroll down to the Apple ID button and click it - Enter your password - Scroll down to Subscriptions and click it - Turn off the auto-renew switch Draw your own conclusions about a service thats easy to join and very difficult to leave.
Ever since downloading the new s/w version I have nothing but problems. No old issue access. Hanging. New issues not forthcoming. You get the picture. New s/w is c**p! Get your act together Wired. Some technology magazine, cant even manage a software upgrade properly. Youve been bad, no resubscribing for you.
This version has the ability to pause downloads when switching apps or upon sleep. Much more useable!
Worth it! Nice that they allow you to use the online if you buy the print version,,,,, Are you listening mens health?
Following a prior update, I couldnt get past the load screen! However, after this latest update, the app works as intended - brilliantly!
No wonder people hate Conde Nast. Save yourself the headache and dont bother.
