Problematic - nothing more than a web browser pushing ads

Latest version appears to function similar to web browser. While beginning to read an article, an ad popped up over the article. The ad was from a previous earlier page i had already viewed.

I pay a nominal fee for the right to read articles presented by writers published under Wired. Why do I have to view a popup ad as if i was a freebee reader?

Very dissappointed in this latest update.
